FRIDAY

The theory:
JD sets watch alarm for 7 am.  Crew have 15 mins post-alarm snooze, then rise at 7.15 am to make tea for the skipper.
The reality:
JD's alarm goes off at 7 am.  JD wakes up half an hour before he usually does.  Crew go back to sleep.  JD rises at 7.30 am to make the tea.  As the man in Ecclesiastes said: "There is nothing new under the sun."  Clearly he must have sailed on a Wyvern week.

However it's another beautiful day with a freshening SE breeze.  Sail upriver to Somerleyton where the bridge for once opens on cue.  Steal a march on
Puck by diving straight through the bridge as it opens, pausing only to shout: "Get out of my WAY!".

Up to Oulton for lunch, then back to Somerleyton for the end of the cruise.  Deshanker boat whilst JD entertains troops with pennywhistle classics; troops are deeply grateful.  Off to the pub for another quiet night.  A good week.

Spring Bank Holiday

Stella (John Duff and Alex Harrison) and Mimosa (Andy & Loïs Gordon) take to the water for a long weekend.  Highlights include shooting St Olaves Bridge, a cracking sail up the Yare to The Beauchamp, and a meal at The Red Herring.

Alleged quote of the week from Alex Harrison:
"John Duff is the ideal skipper: cool under pressure, a skilful sailor, devastating wit and repartee (especially the one-eyed deer joke).  I shall be back for more!"

Riposte from Loïs Gordon: "That statement is redolent with improbability."
